The only thing I care about the Oscars is the fashion.
I love the gowns that the actresses wear and I think it is because they are extremely nice handmade textiles!
Our first look is this Givenchy dress worn by Emma Stone. The fringe skirt looked beautiful as she moved. Although to be honest, I felt like she played it a little safe - I was hoping for something a little more adventurous from Emma Stone given her Oscars look from 2015.
Ruth Nega wore this beautiful Valentino in the perfect shade of red. This is a very Victorian look and something I would expect to see on English rose Keira Knightley. It seems people are either on the love it or hate it list with this dress!
This Stella Mccartney dress worn by Karlie Kloss immediately had me thinking of that Tom Ford that Gwyneth Paltrow wore several years ago. This dress is wonderful but it seems a bit copycat to me!
Below, the original gown!
Nicole Kidman is wearing a beautiful bejeweled Armani Prive dress. Normally I am not a fan of such a pale color on pale skin, but she looks fabulous in this dress!
Taraji Henderson looks absolutely stunning in this Alberta Ferrerti.
Jessica Biel wowed in this bold and gold Kaufman Franco number. I love that Tiffany necklace - very different and interesting!
Viola Davis look fabulous in this red Armani Prive dress.
Brie Larson's sad face is ruining this beautiful Oscar de la Renta dress in velvet.
This Elie Saab dress worn by Janelle Monae reminded me of a dress from the 1700s! I actually liked it as it is interesting to look at; although I am not a huge fan of the see-through top, I do appreciate all of the detail that went into making the dress.
I think though I preferred it as it was shown on the runway without the exaggerated hips!
My Favorite dress
This Dior dress worn by Kirsten Dunst is my favorite! If it looks like it is a retro gown... it's because it is! The design is from the 1950s! You can see how her one-of-a-kind gown was made here.
I love the way she was styled - messy hair, red lips, interesting necklace.
Mahershala Ali looks stunning in this all black Ermenegildo Zegna tux.
Justin Timberlake looks great in this perfectly tailored Tom Ford.
Pharrell took a fashion risk and went with this old-fashioned styled Chanel tux.
We were scrolling through the photos and my husband and I burst out into laughter when we saw this.
Apparently this is a singer, Sia, who likes to keep her identity hidden. Mission Accomplished!
