This holiday season I have read this poem over and over and over at the request of my five-yr-old twin grandsons who are presently living w/me. They know most of it by heart and when I stop at a word or phrase here or there they will fill in the words, usually correctly! Reading it so many times, I have come to a new appreciation for the poem--the vivid images that the words paint, the use of certain words and phrases from an earlier day and the variety of artistic interpretations available. (We read it from a variety of different books.) Becoming so familiar with The Night Before Christmas this year has added something special to remember to the season for me. I'm glad you revisited it in your blog.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! Sometimes it takes a few days for me to reply, but I truly love every single comment and read them all! It is the only way I know who has visited the blog!
