House Updates, Halloween and more - Five on Friday

 House Building Update!

CHECK IT OUT:
WAHOO! I can show you *something* from our house project! Yes, it's dirt. And it's not that big of deal. But it's a big deal to me. It took a LONG TIME to get to this.  We started with a well about a year ago. And started with the architect in January. And delay. Delay. Delay. And finally *FINALLY* we have finalized our plans and we can DO STUFF.  The foundation should be poured (hopefully) Late October/November.

If there's something I've learned about building it is this: it takes FOREVER.  You have to have patience.  No one seems to be in a hurry. And people make mistakes. And you just have to keep watching them.  On the bright side of it taking forever, it allows me to dream bigger, err, take my time in choosing things.

Spotted
I saw these gorgeous boots in person this week and they are beautiful! I love the faux pearl detail on the heels!

I bought this Feu de Bois candle by Diptyque this last and I LOOOOOOVE it.  Feu de Bois means "fire wood" in French and it has this nice smoky scent like you are sitting by a wood fire!  The box says "This sophisticated blend of rare woods recalls the crackling of an open fire. Warm and familiar during the winter days."  It is perfect for Fall and Winter.

I LOVE this vest from J. Crew but it is SOOOO hot where I live (um, hello 100 degrees? Seriously.)

Favorite Instagrams
If you follow my blog you know I LOOOOVE Instagram. Blog posts often take several hours to complete.  An IG post? A few minutes.  You can follow me here: @LePetit_Macaron (I couldn't use the name Peonies & Orange Blossoms because it was TOO LONG).

Halloween Finds
Ok, so I don't decorate the outside of the house with Halloween except a Jack-O-Lantern on some years.
BUT this I have never seen before... a Wicked Witch of the East Legs! HA!

I have always liked this cat below!

Remember my Scarecrow and Wicked Witch on my house tour (below)??? Well, I found more figurines!

Glinda the "Good Witch"
Have you ever heard of the theory that Glinda the "good witch" from the Wizard of Oz is not actually the "good witch" but is instead the villain?  The witch's feet up above reminded me of this story!
You can read the story here.
The "Good Witch" is actually the villain!
